heh just a thought came up after watching Fun - Otome Gumi vs Sakura Gumi. This is the 2nd time she answered she won't choose Rika as her GF. it's kinda upset me a little bit.

I remember I was very upset back then too when I watched the FUN episode. But now, thinking back, I guess there's a reason why. Rumors about them being a couple was real hot back then, guess she need to 'say' something to 'blur' the whole thing. I'll do some posts on events happening around 2003 (soon) to prove this point (that their rumors are really rampant.)

Japanese call Ishikawa and Yoshizawa combo "IshiYoshi", taking the first two characters from their surname. And in Japanese, number one (1) is pronounced as I (ii) and number four (4) has two pronounciations; shi or yon. So...
I-shi-Yo(n)shi becomes 1-4-4-4.

You know, this might just be my own imagination running wild but... the more I watch the H!M episodes, the more I think Rika is the one who likes Yossi. While Yossi is the straight one. I keep noticing how Rika always looks at Yossi pretty attentively whenever Yossi's talking. Or just secretly glacing over at Yossi once in a while. -On the other hand, Yossi finds all ways to irritate and make fun of her which is funny but I doubt she likes Rika at that time YET-
Then compare that with the current 1444, this time Yossi is also paying full attention to Rika when she's talking. Plus she mentions Rika quite often now. And Yossi doesn't try to irritate Rika anymore, though she does tease (tsukkomu) her instead.
Plus how kata pointed out that recently Yossi and Rika have been spending time tgt with kemeko in private.
Hmmm... I'd say Rika might have done something to make Yossi's feelings evolved? While Rika's remained unchanged?
~@ avic: I don't think the 1444 it's a coincidence, really. I'd say it's quite the strategy to keep the fans attentive, interested, and willing to buy goods. ^_^
@ Stephy: Oh, finally someone who thinks the same! I've always thought Rika's the one pursuing Yossy, and not the other way around. It was so obvious to me, but I assumed it was just my thinking. (Mostly because, at some point, I had the impression that she tried to pursue Miki, too. Tried... XD)
@ avic; What ningyo said is right. Netizen wotas have been using the term 1444 since 2001. Obviously ufa have a special task group which surfs the net everyday, especially the infamous 2ch mm threads to gauge wotas reaction and gossips that's been going around and they may have decided to emulate the famous numbers. Could have explained why Rika's standing on the right rather than Yossi so that it would be 1444 and not 4414 in the official pic.
I agree too that last time Rika's all over Yossi. All the way right until Mr. Moonlight. What followed was 2 years of 'bickering'. Things slowed down after that (when 6th gen joined.) And it's only after Rika's graduation do I see Yossi actually paying more attention to Rika.

i have tons of works due in less 12hours but i decided to write something here because i might fall asleep in any second.
i never know the existence of 1444 even though i discovered MM back in 2003, i guess i don't do research much on them at that time. and only come to like them again after the release of Kanashimi twilight. and i'd like to remember how did i start to go obsess over IshiYoshi but i just can't. maybe from the old HM? maybe from the making of i wish PV ? or is it started from fanfics i read. and talking about fanfics, allow me to say this. i think you are the best writer of fics that i ever read on. no kidding. and when u decided to stop writing i was so frustrated, i packed my stuff and went home straight away. it was so heartbreaking that i can't bring myself to say anything about it at that time. i really wanted to say thank you for everything u have written. now i can talk about this, i guess i got my strength back. or maybe because i'm not fully sober? yes i was talking about 1444 just now right. how did i come to this topic? i'm so sorry i barge into your comment space like this.
ok 1444, i thought this number come from the number on their costume for the 2006 winter concert. oh how naive can i be. thanks for make it clear to me. i so wanted to know everything. but there's not much info i can find on them. i wanna watch the old HM but there's not much eps with subtitle. most of my collection are from 2006. - and thats why i am so grateful for your site. thank u. end of my speech.

About me not writing anymore, I didn't know it caused you that much frustration. XD . Guess I was really frustrated as it seemed to me people aren't reading them anymore, then I questioned why I'm still doing it. So I decided to stop. Then... well... I blame 1444 now that my passion's rekindled. What Yossi said in "Kuchi Community" really got me and set me thinking. Is there something? Haha. So I dug up my old stuffs and watch them and I just love the way they look at each other.
Actually what I'm doing now is like writing a fic too, just that it's more pragmatic, in a way that you actually see the 'evidence' or 'connection' and not a storyline that's based on fantasy. (my fantasy.)
And yeah~ I'll like to hear more from other 1444 supporters too.
