In return, we know it will take just one casual remark from Rika for Yossi to snip her hair short.

There is something (13) Kuchi Community 2007-10-24
Million Family 2007-10-23
2. She says she's good with playing hide and seek. A game she's seriously involved in when young. And her intuition tells her the kitchen looks the most suspicious. So that's where she's going to check out first.
3. It's the first time she gets to handle so much cash. 1 million yen~ woo~
5.Boyish mode activated, she goes on a rampage and bursts the ballons with her BARE hands. I'll say that takes guts. Real guts. Any idea how it'll hurt to have the rubber flying and slapping your face at full speed? She's the second lady/girl I've seen who dares to burst balloons like that. The first person is, of course, me XD 6. A little tunneling work. (Well... I wasn't sure I'm glad or disappointed that Yossi's not wearing a shorter dress here.) And what you think she'll do to this stupid tunnel she's forced to crawl through?....
7. Anger gets the better of her naturally and with her full-destruct mode activated, she tears down the silly fortress.
Followed with one hard kick which sends the last standing cupboard flying into the hallway. Haha. From here, she's bestowed with a new title. Princess of Destruction~
8. When time is running out, Yossi switches back on her instinct mode and heads back to the kitchen area, the most fishy-looking place in the whole house. She's damn right. The immovable foil and cling wrap boxes finally give the game away. Poor boy~ 2mins and 27 seconds left...
All I can say is luck's not on the family's side. I was kinda hoping Yossi won't find the boy in time. The money they are to win is for a good cause, to buy a piano for the little girl. Too bad...

There is something (11) Reminiscence
Actually a few months back, Mari had disclosed in her radio show that they had gone drinking after this concert ( ↑ ). Mari said 'they' included Kei, Mari, Rika and~~ Yossi~. She then asked if listeners were surprised to hear that Yossi had gone with them? And all credits should go to Rika for she was the one who had successfully asked Yossi to join them. Mari was truly surprised since Yossi has a repu for being the most private person she knew in h!p.
Mari said Rika had suggested they go for a drink after the concert, and so she had asked Yasuda to join them. Yasuda readily agreed and even suggested to ask Yossi along though Mari found it tough since Yossi was a private person. Therefore she was shocked when she learnt that Rika had managed to convince Yossi to join them. Their session lasted 7-8 hours, during which they talked alot; about work and private matters. Mari said it was a very nice experience as it was the first time she had gone drinking with her kouhai (juniors), both of whom had since turned 22, and well past the legal age to drink in Japan. She looked forward to more of such occasions.
It surprised me too when I heard that Yossi had joined them. I thought she would be hanging out with Maichin and Ayaka instead, since they were together for the concert. Maybe they're together so often, she needed a break from them. Nevertheless, we all know the real reason why. It has to do with this person who cajoled her.

Gatten Gatas 2007-10-15
Some of the highlights (my highlights)
* A nine year old girl writes in to say she has become a Gatas fan after listening to Gatas latest music single. She likes Maichin and Yossi the most, particularly Yossi because she thinks Yossi is 'kakkoii'. Maichin says she notice that Yossi has many female fans. She realized it when many female fans turned up during their CDS (casual dinner show) just to support Yossi. Yossi herself acknowledges it.
* Someone writes in and asks 'why Gatten doesn't wish its listeners goodnight when the show ends' since Charmy Rika and Miki do for their shows? So Yossi and Maichin proceed to decide on some one-liners for oyasumi - Gatas-style. Yossi, in her 'English' mode, says oyasumi is 'Good Night', and suggests using English. They finally decided on 'Gan Night' (say it with soft cooing voice)
*HEART ni SHOOT: Great roleplaying by the girls though the contents are mediocre. You know the norm girl likes boy or boy likes girl stuff, so I'll skip it. However I notice girly Maichin and boyish Yossi having lots of fun enacting the scenes.
And if the rumor was right again, Rika should appear in next week's show.

There is something (09) Gatten Gatas 2007-10-08
A listener writes in and asks if Gatten Gatas has any on-air slogan. Yossi and Maichin try to decide one on the spot. When they have finally decided on one after a long time rambling and babbling, Yossi then says, Rika-chan may not like it though... the phrase is not cute.
I almost fainted. My hunch exactly. I, too, have felt that the slogan is too boyish and think that when Rika goes on the show next week she will bound to protest. It seems Yossi has felt the same.
Next, another listener wants to know who the real 'samui' character in H!P is. You and me know it has to be our Rika-chan, right? From the way other girls have been making fun of her and saying she is 'kimoi' and stuffs like that? And the fact that even the kids think that way, right? Thinking that Yossi is thinking, Maichin says 'Ishikawa Rika' and it so happens that her voice has drowned out Yossi's answer. (I have to rewind it many times to hear Yossi say 'there are none'). Then instead of delving on Maichin's answer, Yossi asks for the next question. See? No doubt Yossi often makes fun of Rika saying she is kimoi, when the time comes and she really has to decide, she can't bring herself to say it. Because there are none and because in her heart, Rika isn't. ^^

10th anniversary concert
Even Yossi’s presence in this concert barely do enough to sustain my interest in the parts she appeared in, like Ongaku Gatas, Baby Koi ni knockout, Dance and Chance and the encore song. I either skip or skim through all other performances, though I sit painfully through Kanashimi Twilight, curious to know who gets to sing Yossi’s lines. I am surprised that it is shared by Reina and Takahashi and I will say they did NOT bad.
There is another thing I want to single out though. It is the way Yossi catwalks on stage during the opening for 'Dance and Chance'. She looks so very cute and I find the sight highly amusing. Do you people also notice the way she swings her arm - a la supermodel? So~~ feminine and so~~ unlike her. She intends to be sexy, I find her uber funny instead. I am not saying Yossi isn't sexy. She IS~ In fact, she just have to pout those thin sexy lips of hers to get me in hysterical mode.
There’s also a little 1444 moment during Ongaku Gatas's MC. Although it had looked scripted, it was better than nothing. During the MC, Yossi had said that the best part of being in Ongaku Gatas was because … She walked towards Rika and when everybody thought she meant Rika she walked past Rika and placed her arm around Konkon instead and said 'Because Konkon’s in it. Funny no doubt, but Rika with her expression behind them convinced me the neta was planned. She had a really exaggerated ‘look up and down’ glare at Yossi which kinda gave the game away. Well, I can only say it is so Rika - being professional and showing it. Not natural at all. Rika is most natural when she gets genuinely pissed, an act I think Yossi has a gift for. Then we shall all see 1444 at its best. Haha~
Now I hope for some backstage scenes…
Heisei titbits~
It supposedly happened during a scene when everyone had safely escaped from the burning house and Maichin was asking everyone if they were all right, but when she forgot with her next line, Yossi helped her by asking her line back as a question. Isn't Yossi nice?

After FRIDAE'd, we present SATireDAY
"No hurry, take a seat first."
"I still have an appointment. To buy a laptop."
"Okay, I'll get straight to my point. I hope you'll reconsider."
"HA HA."
"You should have seen that you're special to us..."
"HA HA."
"Those steps are necessary. We don't know how the fans will react. And time proved that they still love you, no matter what..."
"Nah~ I wasn't angry. In fact I'm grateful. For giving me so much free time. Every day I spend with him just gets better. Now I know what really matters to me. Thanks. It's kinda late though, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"Look, I'm not against you dating or what. You can still work, as long as..."
"Nah~ that's SO not my style. And I don't want to disappoint my fans. They love me because I dare."
"Alright! Alright! As long as you will stay. You can do whatever you like."
"HA HA."
"Come on, even with love, you still need bread and butter."
"That reminds me. I gotta thank you again. The money you've been paying me has ensured me enough to last through my retirement."
"We have accountants here. You can't be speaking the truth."
"I've been thrifty. Besides, it's his money that I'll be spending now."
"Why turn down the good money that I'm offering you?"
"Well... it isn't that there's no future for me once I'm out of here."
"Wait... where did that come from?"
"Alright twerp! I've no more patience with you. I'll S-P-E-L-L it outright. I'll be joining his company. And we're going to be the best comedy couple of this country, on and off screen. We are so gonna make it. Because I like dogs and dogs like him."
"..."
"Yeah~ who need balls anyway."

Dokimiki ends its run.
I don't think the company has any wish to punish Miki. It looks like they are forced to since they're just not certain what Miki may pull from her sleeves again. It is too risky to be throwing millions of yen in a project, only to fear how it may never to see light again and ends up collecting dust in the warehouse.
Fans give Miki their undying support, yet does she spare them a thought when she makes her selfish decisions? Like ignoring the company's offer of a compromise and insisting to let the world know she is dating now? Ironically, the most verbal supporters of her who admire her daredevil attitude, chanting 'Go~ Miki~ F?ck UFA', in the first place are now the ones crying foul (loud). They ask why Miki's only work has been stopped? Don't they see it coming? Or are they childish enough to think their goddess will emerge the winner against a big corporation?
Chance and opportunities should only be given to people who work hard for it.

Midtown 2007-09-12
Note: I'll skip parts which I find uninteresting.
The show starts off with some survey.
- The girls are asked what other special talent they have. Konkon says she owns a brown belt in Karate while Korenaga is good with the soccer ball. She can do ball lifting continously and her highest record is 340 times.
- Although the Gatas members have asked Korenaga to call them by their nicks, Korenaga still finds it hard; it makes her nervous. She tried to by practising calling their nicks in the privacy of her room, it has been four years since and she still can't overcome the barrier. She thinks Yossi and Satoda are very much her senior and thus finds it rude to call them by their nickname.
- Konkon admires Yossi and Rika for their 'challenge spirit' (fighting spirit?), praising Rika especially who is always in 'high-tension' during matches, practise games or meeting-the-fans sessions. And Rika and Yossi often appear fearless. Mari agrees with Konkon, then asks Yossi if she is afraid of anything? Yossi says of course there is like being on a live recorded show, example the one they are on right now. But Mari starts to laugh her ass off.
- Next they play a game which involves passing a waiting-to-explode toy soccer ball around and answering questions at the same time. The person who still holds the ball when it 'explodes' will get a punishment. Frankly speaking, it's a silly game. I don't mind if the girls were playing among themselves but why had they included an obscene-looking guy? And it is the guy who really gets on my nerves. Who wants to see him acting 'scared' when he is holding the ball? Not to mention he looks big, 'dirty'-looking, oily and smelly (not that I could smell it from tv) alongside five cute girls...
Anyway, Konkon gets the first punishment and she has to do a funny face. She does it, not funnily - expected though. Then she turns shy and runs into Yossi's arms (now I find her cute for that). Mari tells everybody she thinks Yossi could do better. Then comes the funny part when Yossi, despite dismissing Mari's praise, steps forward and asks the cameraman if he's ready (to film her). Such a good sport.
The new Gatas member, Notchi, gets the second punishment, and here is why I think most Japanese guys are sick and hentai. Perhaps knowing Notchi isn't as well-known and looks the type he can bully, the sicko guy asks Notchi to do a gesture that depicts sticking something longish into her throat and retching later. Get the picture? It is gross and catch Yossi's reaction here. You could see she knows what it implies and she has a disgusted look and even looks away when Notchi's doing it. Yes, it is offending (to girls)...
Then it is Mari's turn to get punished. Perhaps boasted by his previous success, the guy wants Mari to be on all fours and mimic something, like a reptile. It's dangerous because Mari risked getting exposed on screen, but well, she is game enough and does it. When she's done, she, too, runs up to hug Yossi. It is funny how girls in h!p always run for cover when they're embarassed.
- Finished with the game, another guest comes into the show. She is some kind of spiritual reader and she's here to talk about the girls and their luck with love. As she has done her observations before the results will now be revealed. She ranked the girls from 1 to 4. 3rd goes to Notchi, 2nd to Konkon, then she has everyone guessing who takes first spot, Yossi or Korenaga?
Surprisingly, the studio becomes relatively excited and everybody starts guessing. I think it has to do with the fact that Yossi's among the guessed. Anyway, the guy host asks Mari to make a guess and she is in a dilemma. It is difficult to choose since both Yossi and Korenaga are sporty girls type. So the guy comes up with a moot scenario and asks Yossi and Korenaga what they will do. He asks if they would sneak into their boyfriend's home to do clean-up? Yossi rebukes quickly saying she will never do such a thing and also because she thinks it's not right to sneak into ppl's home. So the host asks, what if it was your boyfriend who asked you to help clean up? Yossi answers matter-of-factly, I'll tell him 'you mess it up, you clean it yourself'. The whole studio cracks up. When everyone has stopped laughing, Korenaga says she is ok with the cleaning, and the guy host is quite impressed with the answer.
So, the result is revealed and Yossi ends up last in the ranking. She starts protesting. The clairvoyant goes on to display a flipboard of a drawn figure covered wholly in green aura with red aura around the head and shoulders. She explains it is what she sees in Yossi. Green aura represents 'thinking' and people with lots of green aura are rational and comprehensive thinkers. The guy host asks if that meant Yossi could easily tell if a guy was suitable? The clairvoyant nods her head. Yossi then says, It's good then, isn't it? Undaunted, the guy then asks the mystic lady when will Yossi meet her special one. The lady scrutinizes Yossi again and then shakes her head. She has no idea since Yossi's green aura is too strong. Since red aura represents 'career' and Yossi has some of it, she thinks Yossi may be too concentrated on her career now than to be thinking of love. Perhaps not wanting Yossi to feel bad, she later tells Yossi that her luck will improve if she changed her thinking. So Yossi starts acting cutesy and demure and the studio starts laughing again. The show ends.
I like this episode, especially the end segment which is the climax. I see how Yossi is not as bothered with her love life as other girls, in the show, do. It shows what the mystic said might have some truth. To me, Yossi shares a guy's mentality, one who knows a steady career is the foundation where love can strive on. Saying which she must be the rational type and rational people find it hard to fall in love. They think/worry too much and thus have reservations about committing themselves in a relationship. They can't love by trial and error. If they can't be sure, they rather be alone by themselves.

What's up there?
Making of Gatas PV
My favorite is where the three 'elders' are goofing around during rehearsals. It's a tough fight between Rika and Yossi for whom I think is having the most fun. I feel this because I see a side of Rika I've never seen - her cheeky and fun side. Finally I understand why Yossi has said Rika is good company to have around.
.
And my favourite is when Rika did something totally ad-lib (even catching Yossi off-guard). And because she was out of position, she crashed with Konno.
This making of pv clip is so full of 1444 goodness it make me go nuts. Even a simple pic like the above makes me feel dokidoki.... I can't describe it. I just love it when I see Yossi and Rika being close together.

There is something (07) Ishiyoshi is so passe~?
Someone just told me in the face that Ishiyoshi was passe and the other couple was 'in' now. She even asked for proof of Ishiyoshi interactions, citing old ones didn't count. I guess she's 'new' in the h!p scene. Or she has selective dementia.
Back then, all it took was a FC dvd of MM in HongKong to have the fans going gaga over HitoMiki. So what had the girls done? Just 'M' feeding strawberries to Yossi and Yossi feeding some mangoes back (they missed one fact though, all the time, 'M's the initiator). Or was it the trite titanic scene, which Yossi and Rika had 'done' it way back in 2003 in one muSix episode.
Why seek comparisons? When one party is so obviously involved with a guy now? There are still people crying out loud that HitoMiki is real. Please~ how disillusioned can they be? Even before the girl was happily attached, they were never close to begin with. 'M' had said in her radio show that they had never hang out in private. Take that! And recently, Mari let loose that she went on a 8 hour marathon drinking session with Kei, Yossi and Rika. Take that too!
1444~ Nothing could deny their chemistry. If there was one person that would make Yossi go through all pains to piss, it had to be Rika. Observe shows or clips with them and you'll always see Yossi goofing around Rika's, like a 'guy' trying to be stupid, in front of a girl 'he' likes, for attention, which make me remember the most recent one where Yossi 'tsukkomi'ed Rika during their Gatas public training session. And of course there are many more 1444 netas (which I will dig them up with time).
Let's begin with a random scene from a hello moni episode back in 2003...
Undaunted, she embarked on her next move.
