my thoughts...

Judging from the photo, there seems to be a relatively huge turnout in Mitsubishi Summer Festival. A look across, there's definitely more people than what a 2,000 auditorium can hold - you know the capacity that often turns out for those small scale helloporo concert tours. And the fact that I know most of the crowd who watched this aren't h!p wotas makes me happy. The event helps them to be exposed to people who has never heard of them, and I'm very glad that the girls sang a repertoire of better songs from MM. The Peace, I Wish, DIN and Love Machine. That makes me wonder if up_front are admitting that MM's old songs are better than new ones.

Anyway, Yossi and Rika sounded great singing live, especially DIN. Very stable vocals. That kinda surprised me that they were actually singing live because I know that h!p girls always lip-synch for their concerts. I always believe that to be called a singer, one must be able to sing live and sound good at the same time, and obviously Yossi, Rika and Miki CAN sing live. Last time, MM always sing live for their concerts, and I really missed those times. but they stopped doing so when 6th and 7th and 8th gen joined. What an irony! Because the move shows their management don't even believe that girls they recruited are of singer calibre. It might be little things like that that has brought the downfall of MM; girls who can't sing and dance in a group that once represented Japan's pride.

No more of that now. Mention MM in Japan and most people will snigger and look at you as if you are a low-class, tasteless and disgusting wota. (WHEN WE ARE NOT!!) ^^

Someone (kamisama~) had uploaded Ishiyoshi's 'The Peace'.

When Rika's doing her line, Yossi did go around her but only walked around, no disturbing (unlike some fans reports said), which was kind of disappointing because I thought she was poking at Rika or something like that. As both of them continued with the song, they were doing their own stuff, singing and waving at the crowd...

But when they reached the line 愛しい人が~ (itoshii hito ga~) (to the person you love)

They turned to look at each other.


And I dropped dead. _O/\__
It's so sudden. They just turned to look at each other.

You see, they don't really look at each other when they are singing, only once or twice in the beginning of the song. But, even then, I have to say that they have shown great understanding because whenever Rika or Yossi had turned to look, somehow the other would know and look back, though for the rest of the song, they only looked at the crowd until they reached that part... hehe~

Others may argue that it's just a coincidence, but for an ishiyoshi wota, that look is just beautiful.

Just when people are lamenting Haromoni@ is coming to an end,
my thoughts are 'phew~ one less tv show to download now. ^^ '

Strictly speaking the last episode should be on the 14th or 21st of September since there will be recaps of famous scenes for the last and second last episodes... as if we needed that ^^

I am hoping there will be a replacement tv show involving H!P.

We all know Yossi likes to watch American dramas...now it seems Rika likes them too.

2008-08-17 SDS / 2008-08-18 MKB's event

Not much was said about the dinner show on 17th. An exception was when Mai-chin won the janken to do that line, Rika cut in and stole Mai's line while Yossi stepped forward to complete the rest. (Trust them to do that~)


*Ongaku Gatas were guest at MKB's event yesterday.
*Yossi found that her wisdom tooth had come out and Rika suggested to have it extracted immediately, saying that's what she did to hers when it came out.
*Nowadays, Rika begins her day by checking the tv schedule for Olympics coverage. Yossi complained that even while at backstage just now, Rika was watching the games on her cell phone.
*Yossi teased a certain Hanshin fan about OG's constant link with the colours orange and black, saying how the colours were so 'Giants', and she wondered how that fan felt? The fan (Rika) said it's ok to wear orange as long as she knows that is the colour that belongs to Ongaku Gatas.
*When Notchi was going on and on about some anime, Yossi looked over at Rika and seemed to ask if she understood and Rika lip-synched back 'I don't'.
*During a game when the girls were supposed to kick a ball through a hola-hoop, Rika missed and hit the crowd instead. Rika quickly apologised but Yossi just commented that Rika was such a bad person. Yossi only criticised Rika albeit some other girls had missed their target too.
*Yossi singing 'PONYO PONYO PONYO sakana no ko~ aoi umi kara yatte kita~ PONYO PONYO PONYO sakana no ko~ manmaru onaka no onna no ko~" (For those who heard last week's gatten gatas, they should be familiar with this melody and how Rika just keeps singing it.) BTW, this song is very popular in Japan now. It is the theme song of anime movie 'Gake no ue no PONYO', and Yossi is very into it at the moment. She said the movie made her cry (source: SDS MC).
*They sang their new single 'Come Together' with either Rika or Konkon taking over Mai's lines.

2008-08-16 Summer Dinner Show

Hearsay. Believe at your own expense.

* Someone called herself Tinkerbell and the other Peter Pan.
* Rika lost the janken in both the afternoon and night shows (much to Yossi's delight) and didn't get to do the 'dialogue' thinggie from The Peace. Satoda did the dialogue for the afternoon show while Yossi got to do it for the night show.

* When Yossi was doing the dialogue for 'The Peace', Rika was happily poking and doing her 'hip attack' on Yossi.
* Rika kept talking about the Olympics, and had spent all her free time watching it. During Kitajima's winning swim, Ongaku Gatas were at work and they watched the competition live on TV. Yossi wasn't really interested and only started watching after she heard her girls cheering loudly.
* Yossi said that if she had free time during the next Olympics, she would want to go watch the games live. Rika said she's tagging along.
* Something about Rika going to the next olympics and asking Yossi to capture her on digital camera, then Yossi asked 'does that mean I have to go too?' for which Rika said 'Yes." (I am not very sure about this.)
* Taking a break from their PV shooting (new single), Yossi, Rika, Mai and Konkon went out together for lunch. Around that time, Yossi and Rika each received an email from Ayaka telling them that she had changed her phone number (something like that). Maichin was shocked to learn that Ayaka hadn't her of the change, despite them being buddies, and texted the lady to ask why. However, Ayaka became angry first and questioned Maichin why the latter hadn't informed her that they (Yossi, Rika and Mai) were meeting for work that day.
* Rika's father never attended any concert by her daughter, but he turned up to watch v-u-den's last concert. When he saw Maichin, Yossi and Aichan backstage, he kept saying that they were 'Kawaii'. In short, the girls think that Rika's father is a very nice man.
* For their solo rendition, Maichin sang 'Koi~ing', Yossi sang 'Boyfriend' and Rika sang 'Furusato'.

I went to Rika's place for two straight days. On the first day it's just Yossi, Rika and me.

Yossi stayed over that night.

And I couldn't stay because I brought my pet dog along and had to go home.

Although Yossi did leave Rika's place once during her stay, she would just leave her stuffs behind like she's coming back again.


That leaves me thinking....

A fan who attended the baseball match on the 12th managed to take some snap shots of Yossi leaving the gate. Quite a big entourage imo. It seems her manager was holding her bag for her in the first pic.

Yossi was a guest for the match between Giants and Hanshin tigers.

When a question asked if any girls from MM are into baseball, Yossi said: 'I was with Ishikawa Rika chan yesterday...'

DJ: 'Buddies?'

Yossi: 'Hai, she's previously from MM and a big fan of Hanshin tigers. I told her I'll be at the match between Giants and Hanshin Tigers tomorrow for work, then she kept pestering if I could bring another person along. She badly wanted to come, and it looked to me she was really coming."

And during the closing segment, when the DJ asked Yossi if she'd report to Rika about the match result once she got back, Yossi said Rika would, no doubt, be disappointed.

I don't know about you people, but Yossi's talk on Rika totally blow my mind away. Besides being together (officially/GATAS) on 9th and 10th, it means they were together on 11th too. And kudos to the DJ for asking that last question at the end. What does he really mean when he said "When you get back..."?

Odaiba 6th 9th 10th August 2008

Ishiyoshi fans report:

(6thAug) No much interaction among them as the members were divided into two teams and they had played in different teams. However, one particular fan noted Yossi using a towel Rika just used.

(9th and 10th) Fans noticed the girls back to before, chatting and staying together. Sometimes, Rika would whisper into Yossi's ears.

Pertaining to that, Dohup just upped some odaiba clips from last year. After watching, I noticed Yossi looking glum throughout the whole event. In fact, black-faced is a more appropiate word. Was she tired? Maybe... but she suddenly hyped up during her speech and mentioned how a particular someone, who was fourth in queue, was obviously 'scorched' in today's event. Her comment was out of the blue and irrelevant, nevertheless, it brought a smile to my face. It proves once again that Yossi likes to talk about Rika.

The show stealer was, of course, the scissor, paper, stone match between Rika and Miki. It started off with Sengoku asking Rika to do sexy janken poses, something that Rika "graciously" stepped forward to demostrate; it was also because Sengoku was too shy to do it. Eventually, it transpired into a square-off between Rika and Miki.

Gatten Gatas 2008-08-11

This episode features Mai-chin, Rika and Koretty, but no Yossi. buu~ buu~ Shouldn't they have one episode with Ishiyoshi and Mai-chin?

As usual, there is no quiet moment in this episode because Mai-chin and Rika are just so talkative. Even Koretty has opened up. My fav. is 'Katte ni Melody' in which a few netas had involved Rika, again. I especially like the one that goes 'I-shi-ka-wa ... O-chi-tsu-ke...', which means "Ishikawa, be quiet/calm". The girls must have liked it too because they are laughing out very loudly. They later chose it as the winning entry. As we all know how noisy Rika can be when she is in hyper-mode, this line will surely come in handy. Later, Mai-chin said that Yossi would like today's entries too if she was here, especially the one on Konkon.
